My husband went and took out a second mortgage on the house on my name. What do I do?

He went and signed my name on the legal mortgage papers, and the mortgage company knew about this. I had no clue, I just found out. The mortgage is on forclosure now. Do you have any solutions as to what I should do

    Yes. You should file a lawsuit against your husband, against the notary public, the mortgage broker, etc.

    ~~You wouldhave to turn him in for forging and get a police report. Then the bank and everyone who allowed this is in trouble. It’ll take work, but at least you will have proof to save your credit. You would have to consult an attorney on how legal that second is, they may be able to guide you to having that reversed out.~~

    If you didn’t file police charges against him when you found out, you’re going to have a hard time explaining why you went along with it for so long.

    The legal thing to do, is press charges of identity theft against him. HE is the one who broke the law, not the mortgage company. You’ll never be able to prove that the mortgage company KNEW that you didn’t sign the papers.

    The whole deal isn’t going to stop the foreclosure from happening, but if he’s doing these bad illegal things, and you don’t mind a divorce, you should press charges.
